It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here.
Last week at the Detroit Auto Show, Jeep announced its Jeep Wrangler pickup truck, which will reach production in 2017--and we at Landers Country in Little Rock couldn’t be more excited about it.
Long have devoted Jeepers awaited a pickup truck model to be added to the current vehicle lineup. In fact, the last mass-market Jeep truck was the Jeep Comanche, which dropped out of production over twenty years ago.
But Jeep has finally stepped up to the plate and confirmed that they are bringing back a Jeep pickup truck. Details are few on this truck, as it was merely confirmed by Jeep CEO Mike Manley in Detroit.
So what do we know?
First of all, since the announcement came straight from the CEO, we know that this is actually happening. Instead of the rumors we’ve been hearing for years, this pickup truck is official!
We also know that the truck will be manufactured in Toledo, Ohio alongside the next generation of Jeep Wranglers. With that in mind, we can expect the new Wrangler and our fledgling truck to share many similarities. Many are already expecting a similar incorporation of aluminum metal, as is the case with the current Wrangler.
It may be a year or two down the road, but Jeep is on its way to bringing a pickup truck back to its brand. If it’s anything like our other high-quality Jeep models (and we fully expect this to be the case), you will be in for a real treat once it rolls onto our dealership and into your driveway.
