How to check your tire pressure
If your tire pressure is low, you are more likely to get a flat tire. Proper tire pressure can improve your tires’ longevity, and even increase fuel efficiency. If you are headed somewhere having to stop because of a flat tire can be a major inconvenience.
A tire gauge is cheap (10-15 dollars), can be stored in your vehicle, and is relatively easy to use. There are stick gauges, dial gauges, and digital gauges. The most common gauge is stick. Your vehicle manufacturer's recommended tire pressures (measured in PSI) can be found in your door jam or owner's manual. There is often a difference between front and rear tire PSI.
You need to check the tire pressure when the car has not been driven for at least three hours or not more than one-mile at moderate speed.
Unscrew the valve cap on the tire, and evenly apply the gauge onto the valve stem. You need to be sure to press hard enough to make sure that the “hiss” sound disappears.
You can use a gas station air compressor or come to our service department to refill your tires.
For each pound you are low, it will be about one second of air on the air compressor. (for example if your car is supposed to be at 38 and the gauge reads 36, two seconds of air from the compressor are needed)
