Each Jeep Altitude has been tested to prove its off-road capabilities and earns its Trail Rated® badge. Trail Rated Jeeps are tested on the legendary Rubicon Trail in California's Sierra Nevada mountain range. Trail Rated Jeeps are tested in five areas: traction, water fording, maneuverability, articulation and ground clearance.
- Traction tests the 4x4 systems and the Jeep's ability to climb some of the toughest terrain around, including unmaintained roads and steep grades.
- Water fording tests the Jeep's electrical and body sealing in depths of up to 30 inches.
- Maneuverability tests the Jeep's ability to navigate through narrow gaps and dodge emergencies while avoiding cosmetic damage.
- Articulation tests the suspension system and the wheel's ability to stay on the ground while the other wheels are elevated.
- Ground clearance tests ensure your Jeep can drive over common obstacles like logs.
