Although we’re at the tail end of springtime, that doesn’t mean you have to forego your vehicle spring cleaning! A clean car is a happy car, and we at Steve Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep have a few new car hacks for you that you can use to get your vehicle squeaky clean. Some of these tips may seem unexpected, but they’ll really come in handy when working to get your prized possession back in peak condition!
Toothpaste. If your headlights are dull and smudgy, spread some toothpaste on there and let it sit for a few minutes. When you wash it off, you’ll effectively get rid of all that headlight grime, meaning your car will look better AND your night visibility will increase.
Foam brush. Your air conditioning vents tend to attract a lot of dust and lint, and it can be difficult to clean properly in such a hard-to-reach spot. A foam brush will penetrate the tight spaces and pick up all the dirt that’s been hiding from you.
Dryer sheets. In the warmer months, you’re going to have bugs on the windshield, bugs in the grille, bugs everywhere on your vehicle. A wet dryer sheet does a fantastic job of wiping off these dried up insects without you having to put in a lot of time or elbow grease.
Rubbing Alcohol. Make sure your windshield wiper blades are doing their job how they are supposed to. Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto your wiper blades--it will make them run much smoother across the glass and limit smearing.
WD-40. Get rid of those pesky old bumper stickers by applying a small bit of WD-40. Let it soak in for a few minutes and they should pop right off without leaving that unwelcome residue.
