For the past 51 years Jeep has been hosting the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. It’s a nine-day event that consists of trail rides and day trips that will take place April 8-16. Participation has grown over the years and now Jeep lovers and off-road maniacs attend in droves.
Keeping with tradition, Jeep works to come up with some pretty awesome concept vehicles for the occasion. This year, the car brand and Mopar have worked together to develop and build seven new concept vehicles that will be introduced during the event.
Here’s a look at all seven concepts:
JEEP GRAND ONE
This retro-looking Jeep is a throwback to the Grand Cherokee. For the Grand Cherokee’s 25th anniversary, this SUV is a modernized spin on the 1993 ZJ with ‘90s-inspired interior materials and a two-inch suspension lift.
The Grand One is powered by a 5.2-liter V8 engine with a four-speed automatic transmission.
JEEP SAFARI
The Jeep Safari is a Wrangler-based family-oriented vehicle that gives everyone a great view. It features a translucent hard-top roof panel, two-level aluminum cargo rack with incorporated drone and “windoors” made of lightweight aluminum and clear vinyl.
The Safari is powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission.
JEEP QUICKSAND
The Jeep Quicksand is a Wrangler-based fast, loud hot rod and looks like something out of Mad Max. It was created for duners and those who love the sand life with a “peekaboo” cutout in the hood, glosser-style downturned open headers, open top and windows, staggered tire setup and red interior accents.
The Quicksand is powered by a Mopar 392 Crate HEMI engine with eight-stack injection and a six-speed Getrag manual transmission.
JEEP TRAILPASS
The Jeep Trailpass is based on the new Jeep Compass Trialhawk. It has a 1/5-inch lift kit, 18-inch wheels with distinct pocket accent, custom hood graphic and side stripes and Mopar/Thule roof basket with roof bag and traction mats.
The Trailpass is powered by the 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
JEEP SWITCHBACK
The Jeep Switchback concept is built for the ultimate off-roading experience with tons of Jeep Performance and Mopar parts. These parts include a four-inch lift with Remote Reservoir Fox shocks, 10th Anniversary steel front and rear bumpers, heavy-duty cast differential covers, front and rear Dana 44 axle, concept LED off-road windshield light bar and Rubicon winch, winch guard, grille and cold air intake. The cargo area has a Mopar swing gate storage rack with roadside safety and first aid kits.
The Switchback is powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission.
JEEP LUMINATOR
The Jeep Liminator is the ultimate vehicle for night off-roading. This Wrangler-based concept features A-pillar-mounted high-powered LED spot lights, scanning LED light bar on the hood, 7-inch LED projector bi-function headlamps, upper bumper LED auxiliary lighting with cornering fog lamps, low-profile integrated overhead LED auxiliary spotlights, unique LED tail lamps and magnetic underbody rock lights.
JEEP CJ66
The Jeep CJ66 is created from a Wrangler TJ frame, 1966 Wrangler CJ universal Tuxedo Park body and Wrangler JK elements. The concept features Mopar 10th Anniversary Wrangler JK Rubicon Bumper Kits, concept two-way air system for the tires, Copper Canyon paint and a custom black graphic stripe, cropped windshield and Dodge Viper seats.
The CJ66 is powered by a Mopar 345 Crate HEMI Engine-Kit enabled 5.7-liter HEMI with a six-speed manual transmission.
