After months of waiting and 13 short YouTube videos teasing the vehicle’s features, Dodge has officially resurrected the Demon. The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon may be the resurrection of a classic, but this iteration is the first of any production car to do things other vehicles just can’t. We're chomping at the bit until the Demon is delivered to Steve Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Little Rock, Arkansas.

To hold you over until then, here are the Demon’s highlights:

HIGHEST HORSEPOWER

With 840 horsepower — the highest of any V-8 engine — and 770 lb.-ft. of torque produced from a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Demon V-8 engine, the Demon is the most powerful musical car ever.

HIGHEST G-FORCE

At 1.8 g, the Demon has the highest g-force acceleration of any production car. In addition, the Demon is the first-ever factory production car with a torque reserve launch system and it has three sources of air induction to provide air that’s up to 30º cooler than the Challenger SRT Hellcat.

FIRST WHEELIE

The Demon can achieve front wheel lift at launch and it’s the first-ever factory-produced car to do so. Plus, it set the world record for longest wheelie from a standing start by a production car at 2.92 feet. This was achieved with the help of exclusive Drag Radial Tires, a TransBrake, Drag Mode Launch Assist and because the weight of the car has been reduced by more than 250 pounds.

WORLD’S FASTEST 0-60 AND 1/4 MILE

In just 2.3 seconds, the Demon can go from 0-60. In just 9.65 seconds, the Demon can travel a quarter-mile at 140 mph, as certified by the National Hot Rod Association. It’s so fast that it’s been banned by the NHRA. That’s a 10-second car Dom Toretto would be proud to drive.

In even more firsts, the Demon is the first-ever factory production car to have an SRT Power Chiller, After-Run Cooler and to run on high-octane fuel.

We’re drooling over all this power and can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Demon. If you’re looking for more information, check out a more extensive list of specifications here
